Kristen Adam
Kristen is a mental health Occupational Therapist whose practice is grounded in compassion, evidence-based care, and a deep understanding of the relationship between mental health, meaningful occupation, and everyday functioning. She is passionate about helping individuals reconnect with the activities, roles, relationships, and routines that bring purpose and fulfillment to their lives.
Her clinical experience includes supporting adults living with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), traumatic stress injuries, mood and anxiety disorders, and concurrent substance use challenges across community-based services, inpatient mental healthcare, and intensive outpatient programs. She has a particular interest in understanding how trauma and mental health challenges can impact a person’s sense of self, relationships, routines, and ability to participate in meaningful life activities. Her approach is collaborative and client-centred, with a focus on developing practical strategies that support resilience, self-awareness, and sustainable change.
Kristen has additional training in Prolonged Exposure Therapy (PE), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), motivational interviewing (MI), and more. A belief in the importance of lifelong learning puts Kristen in a unique place to support clients in a variety of settings.
